Director-General of UNESCO Ms. Irina Bokova meets the delegation of Lomonosov Moscow State University

    The meeting between the delegation of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Director-General of UNESCO Ms. Irina Bokova took place on September, 10 in the Organization’s Headquarters.


    The head of the delegation and the head of the UNESCO chair on Global Problems and Emerging Social and Ethical Challenges for Large Cities and Their Population at the Faculty of Global Processes of the Lomonosov MSU U.N.Sayamov informed the Director-General about the activities of the UNESCO chair. He awarded I. Bokova with the V.I. Vernadsky commemorative medal of merit for her great contribution to the development of global studies. The Director-General was awarded by the unanimous decision of the participants of the International Scientific Congress “Globalistics-2013” which was held under the auspices of UNESCO in November last year.


    During the conversation the participants of the meeting were talking over the ideas of future development of programme of the UNESCO chairs activities.


    The members of the delegation expressed their support for the UNESCO and the Director-General I. Bokova. They offered cooperation between UNESCO and the UNESCO Chair at the Faculty of Global Processes of the Lomonosov MSU. The UNESCO chair at the Faculty of Global Processes of Lomonosov MSU can be beneficial to UNESCO as an information and analysis center of global studies.


    The members of the meeting: the Ambassador, Permanent Delegate of the Russian Federation to UNESCO E.V. Mitrofanova, the Director of Institute of Asian and African Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University I.I. Abylgaziev, the dean of the Faculty of Global Processes of the Lomonosov MSU I.V. Ilyin, the vice-dean  of the Faculty of Global Processes of the Lomonosov MSU I.A. Aleshkovsky, the head of the UNESCO chair on Global Problems and Emerging Social and Ethical Challenges for Large Cities and Their Population at the Faculty of Global Processes of the Lomonosov MSU U.N. Sayamov, the scientific secretary of the UNESCO chair at the Faculty of Global Processes of the Lomonosov MSU E.S. Vasetsova, counselor of the Permanent Delegation of the Russian Federation to UNESCO S.D. Galaktionov.
