Deputy Prime Minister of Bashkortostan Ms Lilia Gumerova visited UNESCO Headquarters

On March 27-28, the Bashkir delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Republic of Bashkortostan L.Gumerova visited the headquarters of UNESCO.

The delegation met with Assistant Director-General for External Relations and Public Information Eric Falt, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre Kishore Rao and experts from the Organization.

The parties discussed the implementation activities within the framework of the bilateral Communiqué with UNESCO signed by President of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and Irina Bokova following the presentation of Bashkortostan at the UNESCO headquarters on October 1-2, 2013.

The delegation also discussed the organization of a visit of I.Bokova to World Heritage sites and educational institutions of Bashkortostan at the behest of the President of the Republic.

During the working meeting of L.Gumerova with Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre K.Rao and UNESCO experts the parties agreed on continuing their close cooperation for the preparation of the nomination “Bashkir Ural” to be included in the World Heritage List based on cultural and natural criteria, selected by Russian scientists.
