-           Progress report on the implementation of the AWH Initiative, including iInformation on the Decisions of the World Heritage Committee      

by Ms. Anna Sidorenko, Coordinator Astronomy and World Heritage Thematic Initiative

-           Introductory remarks on the current status of the studies and research on technological heritage connected with space exploration (thematic and organizing issues, the elaboration of a scoping study)

Topics for discussion:

• The UNESCO Thematic Initiative “Astronomy and World Heritage” as an opportunity to establish a link between Science and Culture towards recognition and protection of Heritage of Science and Technology


• Global Thematic Study on Heritage of Science and Technology, including studies and research on technological heritage connected with space exploration, requested by the World Heritage Committee at its 36th session (St. Petersburg, 2012) - cross-disciplinary multi-stakeholders collaboration


• Establishment of cooperation between the World Heritage Centre, specialized agencies and relevant interdisciplinary scientific initiatives


• Possible contribution to the scoping study
